After I know the board footage I need, I'm off to the sawmill. I need 1"& 2" stock thats quartered. Half the board on the top left can't be used here, the far end is quartered however. The boards on the bench are 14' long. You have to go through a lot of wood to get what you want, thats a given. The planks standing upright on the right are 2" thick and 10' long to be used for the door stiles, rails and the header above the doors. The ruler shows that the board on the left is 18 1/2" wide. Don't worry, I used all the good material between the knotty sections. I buy all my wood in the rough so I can mill it myself. The saw mill is 20 miles away, it takes about 3 hours to select my boards, 1 hour round trip driving. Let's get goin. >
