This is a good a picture of what the scoring layout looks like on the end grain before all the carving, all the information's there, just start carving. On the sash muntins this would be done with the plane ( shown in picture three ) in about ten passes on each side. You can see the shoulders I spoke of. This picture shows this Heart muntin with the face side down and the glazing side up.
