Hanging Wall Cupboard

Wall cupboard in 18th century oak, the wood of which came from the framing members of the owners house, a first quarter 18th century house from Durham, Ct. The whole of the front is a door with applied turnings and mouldings in the Mannerist style, and is an enlarged replica of a Valuables Cabinet made by James Symonds that is at the MMA in New York, without carved sides or interior drawers, just two shelves. 1990.
