This is my 18th century 5/8" Round that has planed countless feet of flutes for me and many generations before me ! I have restored the finish, re-profiled the sole, and then of course ground and sharpened each iron to match the sole exactly on all my planes, which are many and which must be maintained routinely, as they always needed to be. When done, they are a sight to behold and a joy to use ! Again I will say, every flute on every pilaster in every building in every village, town and city in the whole of the Colonies and beyond pre 1840, made this way !!!
